Ballistic Shield Operator/Instructor
This course will cover ballistics, one handed shooting, shield manipulation, movement shooting, reloading, malfunction drills, movement to breach point, bunkering windows, vehicle approaches, bunkering vicious animals, medical evacuations, use for explosive breaching, shield use in clandestine labs, and CQB team work. Whether for a Patrol Officer responding on an active shooter or a Trooper waking up someone sleeping at a road side rest with a gun in his lap, the ballistic shield can be a great tool if used correctly. Any police officer in good standing can attend this course and obtain a Ballistic Shield Operator Certificate. Instructor Certificates are available based on pre-requisites, teach backs and course performance. An Instructor Certificate applicant must be a firearms instructor, pass the shield and pistol qualification course, pass instructor teach backs and demonstrate experience with the shield.
